A Brief History of Delta Gamma Lambda

The chapter serves the greater Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky region. We provide mentorship to 4 college chapters, Alpha Alpha chapter seated at the University of Cincinnati, Sigma Gamma chapter seated at Xavier University, Delta Upsilon chapter seated at Miami University and Rho Gamma, seated at Northern Kentucky University. the chapter has many accomplishments since its inception. We have distributed over $50,000 in scholarships to African American teens seeking to attend college. hosted the Midwest Regional Convention in 2000 that brought over 350 delegates to Cincinnati. The chapter has partnered with the March of Dimes, The Boy Scouts of America, Planned Parenthood, Big Brother/Big Sisters and others in serving the community.
The chapter has worked diligently to implement the national progams of the fraternity:
Project Alpha - a teenage pregnancy prevention program focusing on the African American male.
Go to High School, Go to College - a program to encourage the young people in our community to excel and complete high school and college
A Voteless People is a Hopeless People - A program to encourage our community to be a part of the political process by providing efforts to register people to vote, and provide awareness and education on the political process.
